CHEF ENZO JUDGES YOUNG CHEF OLYMPIAD FOR THE 3RD YEAR IN A ROW
The Young Chef Olympiad, organized by both the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) and International Hospitality Council (IHC) London, is one of the biggest culinary extravaganzas for student chefs across the world. The participants and their mentors, coming from some of the world’s best culinary and hospitality institutions, all went head to head this year in India for the YCO 2019 winner’s title.
And on the panel, alongside several world-class professional chefs, was our very own celebrity chef Enzo Oliveri. Enzo flew all the way to India for this year’s faceoff, which ended in a French victory by Cyrene Randrianasolo! Compliments are also due for our home country of course, as the Italian participant Andrea Guardiani won the ‘Best Vegetarian Dish Creation’.
Chef Enzo says, “The YCO is not just a competition. It’s the opportunity to bring the world together through food, sharing culture and friendship. The culinary academies, hospitality universities and colleges in the world are selecting the best Young Chefs in the country and the best mentor, to compete at the highest level to win the Gold Trophy and US $10,000!
This year we had the presence of 53 countries. It’s wonderful to be part of this great event and sharing knowledge and ideas with all the judges and participants. A big thanks to IIHM and all the students to make it magic.
